Well this is really off topic but this really blew my mind when I ran across this the other day.I don't know what the truth is but I haven't heard a peep about this on the major networks and it makes me wonder why.

Thanks for your input NewFederalist and with any dialogue I always receive new thoughts from anything posted.Your
idea of "least bad major party nominee" speaks volumes to me and I submit that the Libertarian party is a major party. The reason I believe this is because the Libertarian party has fielded two major candidates on the ballot in what? 45 states ? This to me is a major party and I just don't think the Libertarians themselves really realize it yet.You can bet the Democrats and Republicans are acutely aware else why would they play the game of "freeze out" in certain states and definitely refusing to have "open debates"Just my opinion.thanks

While promoting alternative candidates and parties is very important, I think much energy must be given to the 20 second response to the "wasted vote" question. Until a persuasive answer can be given to this question then the "lesser of two evils" will continue to compel people to vote for the least bad major party nominee.

Here is a post I made on LP Stuff ,I would appreciate some comments on whether or not this is a viable idea ?
In talking to people who might want to know who and what the Libertarians are,I could simply flip them a disk and they could check it out without having to search the net or just maybe they don't have internet access.

Any merit here ?
Since becoming interested in the various candidates running for office during this latest election cycle I ran across an online video by John Stossel “politically incorrect” ABC News ,(was here : but unfortunately it has been deleted from : http://www.vimeo.com/2052724 , but anyway Mr.Stossel pointed out exactly how inept our government leadership actually is.I tryed unsuccessfully to burn this video to a CD for viewing on a home CD player for my dear mother who is computer challenged .This got me to considering why the various “Independent” Orgs. couldn’t offer CDs with their various interviews and candidates. These CDs could be offered to interested voters for a minimum ? donation to whatever party they wanted information on.SInce I realize the fat lady has finished singing this election cycle for President, these men who have put forth time and effort still have words of iron which make a lot of sense to me.Now is the time to start preparing for 2012,I think. cheers

PS I would like to get several of these for my pals who actually believe they should vote for
a candidate most likely to win because they don't want to throw their vote away,Yikes ! I couldn't believe I actually heard that. They could at least formulate an opinion when they had time to look/listen. thanks

I think the reason Bob Barr wasn't more popular was simply for the reasons already stated. In fact the several people I spoke to about Bob Barr simply retorted "Bob who !?!?"It is my firm belief the Libertarians are really bucking a headwind on a Democratic/Republican playing field where money rules and the networks ,while they give token coverage to a candidate ,most people simply don't know.It is up to some forward thinkers to figure out how to get mega money or another clever way to garner recognition for people to become aware.Just my observation.

So from what I can gather about the libertarian party to help the disabled people and the elderly is to merely give money to charities. My question is where are these charities and who organizes them? It seems that the disabled and elderly would be given up to chance. Maybe someone will help them and maybe someone will not. Is there a better way this can be explained or I have I just completely misunderstood. Thanks

When I was an undergrad, there were NO political groups on campus. One other person and I started a lib group, and the Reps quickly formed after that. I actually had to help set up a Dem group, just to help them get started. Pretty weird. Of course, we as the Libs were always at a disadvantage, because we were the only ones who wouldn't take school funds, because we considered it to be coerced money, so the school kept disenfranchising us. LOL.

OPTION-1: donate money to specifically to educate students about libertarian viewpoints.

OPTION-2: educate students yourself.

I'm a grad student and as such I'm already doing #2. Only problem is my access to undergrads is severely limited since I am a returning adult.

As far as #1, there is nothing in place to funnel money. The only option I have seen is YAF

I'm not an economist, but from what I've read, we've had some form of a central bank in this country since 1791. Every time we've gone without one, we end up creating another one out of need. Shouldn't we leave the Federal Reserve alone? :(

Yes, you can have the joy of raising children without going broke.
Although we live in a very materialistic society, it is incumbent upon all of us to teach our children well. They will feel the tug of peer pressure, the "need" to have $100 Air Jordans. If you can teach them money literacy early, you will have gone a long way toward saving them years of financial and emotional grief. Kids learn best by example. If they see you buying new shoes every month, they will want new shoes. If you get the newest computer every six months, they will want the new Nintendo. If they see you being smart with a dollar, they just might learn that, too.

Your creditors are probably not too happy with you right now. Although some people start on the path toward financial solvency still current on all of their bills, most people do not.
Explain to each creditor on your list what you are doing. Tell the creditors
1. You are sorry for allowing this debt to get out of hand. If you express regret, you may find that the creditor will be far more willing to work with you.
2. You have every intention of paying them back in full.
3. Paying them back will, however, take some time. You owe a lot of people money, not just them.
4. You have a plan of action to pay everyone back, and in it you will be treating each creditor equally. The creditor to whom you owe the most money will be paid the most. It is a fair plan.
5. You understand that they want more money each month than you are proposing, but at this time, you are doing you best. In time, as the debts shrink, you hope to be able to pay more.
6. You would like their cooperation. If they could stop adding interest, they would get paid sooner, and your job would be easier.
